One of the leading teachers of the Moscow Art Theater School, Honored Artist of Russia, Honored Artist Mikhail Lobanov has died, TASS reports.

Actors Sergei Bezrukov, Vladimir Mashkov, Yevgeny Mironov, Irina Apeksimova, Alena Khovanskaya, Vitaly Egorov and others were Lobanov's students.

The cause of death of the 76-year-old teacher was a long illness. “Oleg Tabakov considered him his main colleague in the education of theatrical youth, he endlessly trusted him,” the press service of the organization noted. Here Lobanov is called the legend of the Moscow Art Theater School. “Lobanov had the skill to create actors from scratch. His personal unique strategy was the first-year school - the most important base, support, foundation of acting skills, ”colleagues emphasize.

Mikhail Lobanov was born on November 14, 1945. In 1972 he graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School and was invited to the troupe of the Art Theater. He played Lariosik in the new edition of Days of the Turbins, Damis in Tartuffe by Anatoly Efros. He was a director of performances, starred in films. He has taught at the Moscow Art Theater School since 1980.
