Russia (bbabo.net), - Li Zuo was born in 1957 in Beijing.
In 1983, he graduated from the Russian language department of Beijing Normal University, after which he began teaching Russian at Beijing University of Communications. From 1983 to 2010, he was actively involved in translating the works of Russian and Soviet poets into Chinese, and published his translations in specialized periodicals on Russian literature.
From 2010 to 2015, Li Zuo taught Chinese at the Belarusian State University. From 2015 to 2018, he lectured as a professor on poetry and calligraphy at Beijing Railway University. At that time, he published a number of translations of poems by ancient Chinese poets of the Tang, Song and Yuan dynasties, conducted a radio broadcast on China Radio International devoted to Russian and Chinese poetry and the translation of ancient poems.
Li Zuo is the winner of a number of awards for the translation of Soviet poetry.
Li Zuo's poetry translations were recognized at the All-China Translation Competition in Nanjing in 1990. In addition, Li Zuo is a two-time winner of the first prize and a five-time winner of the second prize in calligraphy competitions. From 2012 to 2015, four exhibitions of Li Zuo's calligraphic works were held in Minsk. In November 2012, his calligraphic works took part in the International Exhibition of Calligraphy in Moscow. In April 2013, eight calligraphic works by Li Zuo replenished the fund of the National Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Belarus. In 2019, Li Zuo took part in the International Anniversary Exhibition of Calligraphy in Moscow, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China.
Li Zuo published a series of collections of translations of poetry from ancient China, including One Hundred Lyric Poems of Li Po, One Hundred Selected Poems of the Tang Dynasty, Masterpieces of Chinese Poetry of the Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties, and others. Currently, the master is Li Zuo lives in Minsk.
