King Crimson co-founder dies

British musician, co-founder of the rock band King Crimson Ian MacDonald has died at the age of 75, Rolling Stone magazine reports, citing a statement from the family of the deceased.

Death occurred at the musician's home in New York, surrounded by family on February 9.

The cause of death was cancer.

Prog rock band King Crimson, which recorded such hits as Epitaph, 21st Century Schizoid Man and The Court of the Crimson King, existed since 1968, the last of 14 albums was released in 2003.

After leaving King Crimson, Ian McDonald played in the rock band Foreigner for several years. He took part in the recording of one of the albums of T. Rex - Electric Warrior.
