The Ministry of Culture of Russia suspended the discussion of the draft Fundamentals of State Policy for the Preservation and Strengthening of Traditional Russian Spiritual and Moral Values ​​after public criticism. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the department.

“In society, in the professional environment, a lot of critical remarks were made. In connection with the current discussion around this strategic planning document, today it is obvious that there is a need to look for new approaches to the development of the Fundamentals of State Policy for the Preservation and Strengthening of Traditional Russian Spiritual and Moral Values,” the ministry said.

The project was developed by the Russian Research Institute of Cultural and Natural Heritage. D. S. Likhacheva (Heritage Institute).

Earlier, theatrical figures were outraged by the bill of the Ministry of Culture to strengthen traditional values. They published a joint statement saying that the document cannot positively affect society and citizens, scientists, teachers, and artists. Most of all, the theatrical figures did not like the fact that the cultural and educational sphere will be taken under additional control, and an appropriate coordinating body will be created.
