Russia (bbabo.net), - From February 12, one of the best documentaries of recent years will be released exclusively in Kion online cinema in Russia.
The picture is called "Agent Mole", its world premiere took place at the American Sundance Independent Film Festival in 2020 in the "World Documentary Film" section (then this work was paid attention to). This year, Agent Mole was nominated for the 2021 Oscars in the Best Documentary Feature Film category.
The film tells the incredible story of 83-year-old Chilean Sergio. He leads a rather active life, despite his age: he is interested in technology and new trends. So, Sergio gets to the "casting" of the private detective Romulo ... for the "role" of an undercover agent ("mole").
The daughter of a local resident turned to a private detective. The woman is very alarmed because she is faced with injustice. She believes that her birth mother is being severely abused in the nursing home. Sergio, having heard this terrible story, decides to help, gets a job in a nursing home. At the same time, he is mastering a new technique for himself. Romulo, convinced that Sergio agrees to help him in the investigation, conducts a short course on the methods of "retirement espionage".
Strange things do happen in the nursing home. But the truth, which is revealed thanks to Sergio, will surprise both the 83-year-old "mole", and Romulo, and the audience of this documentary detective, which only recorded real events.
Film directed by Maity Alberdi. The Russian premiere of the film took place at the 43rd Moscow International Film Festival in 2021 in the Free Thought program dedicated to documentary films.
