Russia - Lyudmila Davydova: It would be nice to film with Kusturica

Russia (bbabo.net), - February 13 marks the 75th anniversary of Lyudmila Davydova - theater and film actress. The troupe of theater, where the Honored Artist of Russia has been serving for over 20 years, was going to loudly honor her - her beloved colleague, her Lucy. But in pandemic February, the desire to save Lyudmila Anatolyevna overcame the desire to arrange public celebrations. The benefit performance of the actress was postponed to spring - it will take place on April 15 on the Main Stage of theater. But no one canceled the birthday, on the eve of which she spoke with the birthday girl.

Lyudmila Anatolyevna, since the reason for our meeting is your anniversary, the first question is a retrospective question. Tell me, how did it happen that you, who was born in the Altai Territory, became the star of the capital's stage, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, prima of theater? What helped you become who you are?

Lyudmila Davydova: How did I get to this life? Everything is very simple - once my mother friend staged performances in the courtyard of the house, invited adults and even sold tickets to these performances. I learned about this from my aunt about 15 years ago ... Then everything worked out - my mother dreamed of being an actress, but the way of my grandfather's family and the war prevented her from fulfilling her dream. And I, having been born, apparently, in the genes have already received a well-formed desire to act. Mom drew beautifully, sewed beautifully, and loved the theater very much - we went to all the premieres together (at that time there was an operetta theater in our city, I must say, very good). So it is not surprising that the question of adults: "Who will you be when you grow up?", The answer immediately followed: "Artist!". And what helped me to be in Moscow, and even stay here - my obstinacy and unshakable faith in my abilities. And yet, and how without it, - His Majesty The occasion is a meeting of the right people at the right time. I owe a lot! To my school teacher - Valentina Ivanovna Trofimova, to the director of theater "Rovesnik" - Kira Panteleymonovna Knyazeva, to my directing teacher - Lidia Fedorovna Yakovleva, to the artistic director of the acting course - Tatyana Kirillovna Kopteva, Yuri Petrovich Lyubimov, Valery Romanovich Belyakovich, Yuri Mikhailovich Avsharov and, of course, Evgeny Iosifovich Slavutin.

What is the most important thing for your profession? What qualities do you value most in partners on stage and on set?

Lyudmila Davydova: In our difficult profession, the most important thing is sincerity and patience, I think. And 100% commitment! For me, the standard of such service in the theater remains Zinaida Slavina - an actress from God! Also - Inna Churikova, Alisa Freindlich ... I really appreciate the ability to work as a team - to interact with a partner, and not to play alone!

It is known that you are a family man, you are a mother and grandmother. How do you manage to combine these incarnations with the craft, which is called the "most dependent profession"?

Lyudmila Davydova: Yes, I am both a mother and a grandmother. I believe that family is above all .... These are two wings - work and family. I can’t imagine how my life would have turned out without my husband our children ... We have been with him for 47 years, and this is a great happiness ... In youth, nothing is difficult or scary! A lot can be done, and children are not a hindrance, a family is not a hindrance, if your heart is in order and your head is on your shoulders! I know many actresses who at one time for the sake of art denied themselves motherhood, remained lonely and unhappy - no roles, no children, no husband. I am very happy when I see that the actress is expecting a baby! A child is a gift of fate, a priceless gift! Remove the ego, and everything will fall into place ... It's great to be a grandmother! By the way, grandchildren are better than children, less responsibility, but more fun!

You paint pictures in your original style, they often show flowers in a delicate palette. Drawing for you is an outburst of emotions, a way to distract yourself, or maybe this is a form of dialogue with your viewer?

Lyudmila Davydova: I have always drawn, from the cradle, one might say. She loved to make cartoons, pencil portraits, paints came much later. I can’t say that I draw every second - no, according to my mood. I draw in an amateurish way, but sometimes something turns out very well. And it happens that I tear everything to shreds. One day I saw an ad for admission to Chinese painting courses and ... off we go - paints appeared, brushes. And then - patience and the ability to finish what I started, which I very often lack. Chinese painting differs from ours - ours is three-dimensional, perspective, like a photograph, the Chinese are philosophers in painting: the image of objects, flowers, birds, animals, people, nature is more flat than three-dimensional, but the color and arrangement of objects is of great importance. Each drawing is a message with a certain meaning. In painting, I don’t make any plans for the future, I’m very interested and that says it all!You also write fairy tales, stories. And your colleagues claim that you are a true master of the short literary genre. What inspires you to create your own literary works?

Lyudmila Davydova: I started writing, perhaps, from school, I liked it when they asked essays on a free topic. They were often read to the whole class. I went to a literary circle, wrote poems and short stories, which were then placed in the school wall newspaper. She first wrote a serious story after the death of her beloved grandfather, Ivan Lavrentievich. All my bitterness of loss resulted in this story. It, unexpectedly for me, was published in the magazine "Golden Age". Why not continue if it works? But, again, I don’t do this every day, sometimes I start, and then I can not approach the topic that excited me for a year. She will lie down, I will look at what was written, I will finalize it - it seems, not bad. In general - everything is in the mood!

A mini-survey of the artists of theater showed that the actress Lyudmila Davydova is called "Our Lucy". How do you feel about this?

Lyudmila Davydova: They call me Lucy not only in the theater. My children have always addressed me that way, and my grandchildren continue to call me that. And it's not scary, honestly! I believe that there is no disrespect in this - there is trust in this, and this is the main thing!

Please reveal the secret: what do you wish for yourself on your anniversary birthday?

Lyudmila Davydova: There is such a joke among the acting fraternity: "What didn’t I play: I didn’t play Juliet, I didn’t play Lady Macbeth, I didn’t play Nastasya Filippovna, I didn’t play Nina Zarechnaya!". And it would be nice to star in a good role in a good movie! At Nikita Sergeevich, for example, or at Kusturica. A bottomless storehouse of roles for Ostrovsky! What else could you wish for? Health, of course, is especially important now.
