The farewell ceremony for the Soviet actress, People's Artist of the RSFSR Zinaida Kiriyenko takes place in the Great Hall of the Cinema House, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
Colleagues and friends came to say goodbye to the artist: People's Artist of Russia Nikolai Burlyaev, People's Artist of Russia Lyudmila Zaitseva, Deputy Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers Valery Tonkikh, wreaths for the funeral service were delivered from actress Lyudmila Khityaeva, the Central House of Cinematographers, the Golden Vityaz festival. “She had an amazing life that will remain an example for generations - a screen example of purity, incorruptibility, femininity, chastity ... She will remain an example of loyalty to her husband and art,” Burlyaev said during the ceremony.
A week ago, the actress was elected to the new Secretariat of the Union of Cinematographers as a representative of the Council of Elders.
The actress will be buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery.
The star of the films "The Fate of a Man" by Sergei Bondarchuk, "Quiet Flows the Don" by Sergei Gerasimov, "Earthly Love" by Evgeny Matveev, "Two Captains" by Evgeny Karelov died at the age of 89 on February 12.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the death of Kiriyenko an irreparable loss for the cinema.
