The Yasnaya Polyana Prize was founded in 2003 by Leo Tolstoy's estate and Samsung Electronics. The jury this year included Pavel Basinsky, Alexey Varlamov, Evgeny Vodolazkin, Vladislav Otroshenko.

The foreign nomination of Yasnaya Polyana is announced for the sixth time. Its monetary component this season is 1,200,000 ₽ for the author (who must come and receive the award in person) and 500,000 ₽ for the translator.
