Russia - Sverdlovsk musical comedy played Catherine the Great for the 300th time

Russia (bbabo.net), - The musical, which premiered 14 years ago, is already being called legendary by critics, realizing that it has entered the history of Russian musical theater.

"Musical Chronicles of the Empire", telling about the reign of Catherine II, were created by composer Sergei Dreznin, playwrights Mikhail Roschin and Alexander Anno (poems by Alexander Anno, Mikhail Saltykov) and stage director Nina Chusova especially for the Sverdlovsk Musical Comedy Theater. And they are embodied with a truly imperial luxury and scope, which still surprise and delight the audience.

The gigantic three-storey set of the Winter Palace occupies almost the entire stage, and its installation requires more than 20 hours. The wardrobe is also to match the imperial - 400 suits, 250 pairs of shoes, 400 hats. At that time, it became one of the most expensive, its budget amounted to 17 million rubles. And these very serious investments justified themselves: the first historical blockbuster in the musical theater in Russia "earned" 120 million rubles in 14 years. And immediately after the premiere, he received two "Golden Masks", which were awarded to Pavel Kaplevich ("The best work of a costume designer in a musical theater") and the performer of the role of Fike Maria Vinenkova ("The best female role in an operetta / musical").

The entire troupe is busy in action, but one actress played all 300 performances - this is the People's Artist of Russia Nadezhda Basargina, who plays the role of Empress Elizabeth.

The musical went on tour in Minsk, Berlin, Moscow, St. Petersburg and many cities of Russia.
