Russia - A film about Elizabeth Glinka, sick and wounded children of Donbass was shown in Moscow

Russia (bbabo.net), - An open screening of the documentary film "To Live! Despite Death and War" was held at the Civic Chamber of Russia. Its premiere in December 2021 was in the cinema chain of Moscow and St. Petersburg, on the OTR TV channel and seven TV channels in Lugansk and Donetsk.

"To live! In spite of war and death" are poignant stories about the humanitarian mission of the Fair Aid Center, founded by Elizaveta Glinka. About her work-feat to save the children of Donbass. The evidence film is based on eight real stories of children and their parents in search of salvation from disease and war. The film traces eight children's destinies during the eight years of the war, brought together by tragic events in one geographical point - in the Donbass.

“Our cinema is not about the war and not about the conflict in Donbass,” insists the director of the film Ekaterina Ryabinina. “Our cinema is eight answers to the question of why it is necessary to help seriously ill and wounded children of Donbass. And we hope these are eight reasons for the audience to participate in fate heroes."

In the film and behind the scenes, as is often the case in documentary narrative, there is no author's point of view on events. There are testimonial stories and moments of feelings and emotions of children and their loved ones. For example, Kolya from Makeevka has a severe form of congenital immunodeficiency. The boy is doomed to take an expensive drug for the rest of his life. “The doctor told us,” says the hero of the film, “you will drip, you will live. If you don’t, the outcome is unknown.” And immediately - the next frame-story.

Girl Katya. Her mother left when the baby was three and a half months old. She could not accept the diagnosis of the child - the girl fell into a coma immediately after birth. Now she does not speak, does not walk, does not sit, cannot swallow. But Father Nikita is with her around the clock.

“I was pierced by my father’s boundless love,” recalls director Ekaterina Ryabinina. “I saw different fatherly love, but never like this.” Nikita is physically unable to leave the child and go to work, and the allowance is not enough. They are helped by philanthropists, but ...

“I really want their life to change. Maybe someone, after seeing the film, will connect, and miracles will begin to happen,” Ryabinina believes.

And so is every story. Filming lasted a year and a half. And now, after the premiere of "To Live! Despite Death and War" in Moscow and St. Petersburg, after the screening at the Public Chamber of Russia, many Russian regions wanted to arrange a film screening at their place. "Live! Despite death and war" has also been announced for participation in Russian and international festivals.
