The Wurzels drummer dies

Drummer of the English music group The Wurzels John Morgan has passed away after contracting the coronavirus during a concert tour. Writes about this The Sun.

The musician passed away at the age of 80.

According to the publication, Morgan caught COVID-19 after his band, which gives up to 150 concerts a year, played in Manchester in December. A member of The Wurzels died surrounded by his family in a hospital located in the English city of Gloucester.

“We can't believe we'll never see you playing those drums again. We thought you were indestructible. We will miss you. We're all in shock, ”commented one of the band members Tommy Banner.

The Wurzels group was founded in 1966. At one time, its members performed an English version of country, known as Scrummy and Western. Morgan joined the band in 1981. The group's most famous songs are "The Combine Harvester" and "I Am A Cider Drinker". Both songs hit the first places in the UK charts in 1976.
