Leading soloist of Alla Dukhovoy's dance theater TODES, winner of the dance projects Sytycd 8 (Ukraine), “Dance Revolution 2”, World Of Dance, finalist of the show “Dancing on TNT” Ildar Gainutdinov (Ildar Young) will appear on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater for the first time from 11 to 13 January as part of the Postscript project.
Gainutdinov will play the role of Faun in the ballet of the same name by the Belgian choreographer Sidi Larbi Sherkaui, created for the centenary of Russian Seasons. His stage partner in the production of the meeting of two pagan forest creatures will be Yulia Lunkina. “My first time on the academic scene. Excitingly, responsibly and so desired ... Despite the already extensive experience of performing on prestigious stages, this is one of the most significant events in my life. I am infinitely happy, because the Bolshoi Theater is a symbol of Russian ballet. I'm happy, ”the artist admitted.
Faun is a kind of remake of Vaslav Nijinsky's ballet Afternoon of a Faun based on the eponymous work by Claude Debussy. The original score was supplemented with electronic music by British composer Nitin Sauni. The play tells about the meeting of two pagan forest creatures.
The Postscript project was nominated for the 2021 Golden Mask in the Best Ballet of the Year category. The evening of contemporary choreography will also include works by choreographers Alexei Ratmansky, Wayne McGregor, Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon. The audience will see Olga Smirnova at the Bolshoi in three of the four ballets included in the program.
