The Ministry of Finance will issue 5.5 billion rubles for Russian cinema

The Russian Ministry of Finance will allocate 5.5 billion rubles. The Ministry of Culture for the production of domestic films, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the instructions of the Prime Minister of the country Mikhail Mishustin.

The money will be allocated by April 1. 4 billion rubles of this amount are intended for the Film Foundation.

In early December, Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded that the government introduce the possibility of paying for Russian films with the Pushkin Card in two weeks in order to support films of domestic production in this way.

Earlier it was reported that Fyodor Sosnov, who temporarily headed the Cinema Fund, was appointed executive director of the organization. Sosnov received the post for three years.

The Acting Director of the Sosnov Foundation was appointed on December 28, 2020. In this position, he replaced Vyacheslav Telnov, before that Sosnov was deputy executive director.
