Moscow said goodbye to director Vladimir Gorikker

Farewell to Soviet and Russian theater and film director Vladimir Gorikker took place on January 4 at the central clinical hospital No. 1 of the Russian Presidential Property Management Department.

The fact that the farewell is scheduled for January 4, in an interview with TASS, said the son of the deceased, Vladimir Smelkov.

Gorikker made films-operas in which Alexander Shirvindt, Innokenty Smoktunovsky, Vera Vasilyeva, Lyudmila Kasatkina, Vladimir Basov, Alexander Belyavsky sang - for them the roles were performed by professional opera singers. Has directed films-operas "Iolanta", "The Stone Guest", "The Tsar's Bride", musical feature films "Screen Star", "Under the Roofs of Montmartre", "Autumn Bells", "Silver Revue".

In the early 1990s, he was the artistic director of the newly formed studio "Cinema and Music", where he shot the video films "Boris Godunov" and "Juliet and Romeo" according to his own scripts.

Gorikker celebrated his 96th birthday on November 2. He passed away on December 30th.
