The ceremony for the American Music Grammy Awards, which was scheduled for January 31 in Los Angeles, California, has been postponed indefinitely due to the spread of the omicron strain of the coronavirus. This was reported in a press release from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

"After careful consideration and analysis of the situation with the participation of city and state authorities, health and safety experts, the performer community and our many partners, the recording academy and CBS television have postponed the 64th annual Grammy Awards," - stated in the message.

According to the organizers of the event, the date of the award will be announced later.

In 2021, the Grammy was also postponed - instead of January 31, 2021, the ceremony was held on March 14 with fewer guests than previously estimated.

Grammy nominations were announced in November. A possible postponement of the ceremony became known at the end of December.
