John Stewart explains that he does not want to censor anti-Semitic episodes of Potter

Comedian and actor John Stewart on Twitter explained what he meant when he pointed to the presence of "anti-Semitic" episodes in the series of films about the wizard Harry Potter - adaptations of books by British writer J.K. Rowling.

Stewart said he did not accuse Rowling of anti-Semitism. “She doesn't have to answer that. I don't want the Harry Potter movies to be censored. It was just a funny conversation. Control yourself, ”he asked.

The actor was angry that the media interpreted his words as an attack on Rowling.

Stewart hosts a podcast, in one of the episodes of which he drew attention to the image of goblins who work at the magic bank Gringotts. He likened the goblins from the Potter movies to the anti-Semitic cartoons in the fake Protocols of the Elders of Zion, designed to undermine the reputation of Jews in 1903.

In the past two years, J.K. Rowling has been at the center of a scandal - she has been accused of transphobic comments. Perhaps because of them, the writer was not filmed for the Harry Potter reunion - archival footage was included in the special episode.
