Moldova is in talks with Gazprom on the possibility of canceling the advance payment for gas. This was stated by the vice-premier of the republic, Andrei Spynu, reports RIA Novosti

According to him, Moldovagaz may increase the tariff for the population in order to repay the debt to Gazprom on time.

During the briefing, the politician said that the purchase price of gas for Moldova increased from $ 450 per thousand cubic meters. m in December 2021 to $ 646 in January 2022.

“We need to pay in advance for the first half of January, and a part will also be transferred by the end of this week. "Moldovagaz" is considering the possibility of increasing the tariff in order to pay off with "Gazprom" on time, "Spinu said.

According to him, he discussed with the head of Gazprom the possibility of canceling the payment of the advance payment for January, but the final decision has not yet been made.

On the eve of the head of "Moldovagaz" Vadim Cheban said that in January the price of gas for Moldova will be higher than last December.
