The Crimean authorities decided to complain about Booking to the Federal Antimonopoly Service

Crimea will turn to the Federal Antimonopoly Service because of the new restrictions imposed on the peninsula by the international booking service Bokking.com. This is reported by "Prime" with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic.

“We have prepared an official appeal to the Federal Antimonopoly Service regarding the signs of unfair competition, because, in our opinion, they are clearly present here,” said the head of the department, Vadim Volchenko.

After the peninsula became part of Russia, Booking reset the ratings of Crimean hotels and disabled most of the functions for them. For example, users can no longer read and leave reviews for placements. And it was possible to book hotels only for business purposes.

In January 2022, the service limited access to hotel contacts, and also allowed booking hotel rooms for only one person. The Crimean Ministry emphasized that they had repeatedly contacted Booking about the company's actions, but received unintelligible answers.

Crimean resorts, according to Yury Kuznetsov, director of the Russian service for online booking of holiday accommodation Sutochno.ru, have become one of the inexpensive destinations for New Year holidays in Russia.
