According to figures from the Central Credit Information Bureau for individuals (March 31, 2015), 45,782 Belgians are no longer able to pay off their mortgage. This is 4.5% more than a year ago, reported on Wednesday Sudpresse newspaper. The financial failure also was observed in the number of defaulting contracts: 34,474 (5.6% more than in March 2014) for a total amount of 1,338,143,000 euros (+ 10.9% in one year).
Another subject of concern is the failure of 215,102 Belgians to repay the loans. This is 6.2% more than in March 2014 that amounts 489,459,000 euros (+ 2% in one year).
