Indian Firms Keen to Invest in Electricity Projects in Indonesia

Indian companies are looking to participate in an Indonesian government program to develop the target of 35,000 megawatts in new capacity by power plants, said a delegate from an envoy of executives visiting from India.

Anoop Seth, managing director of IL&FS Tamil Nadu Power, an Indian company investing in infrastructure across sectors, said his company is “interested” in learning more about the power plant project.

According to government plans, 62 percent of total capacity will come from independent power producers, while the remainder will be built by state-owned power company Perusahaan Listrik Negara.
