The European Commission urged Gazprom to behave like a good business partner

The European Commission (EC) expects that the Russian Gazprom, if necessary, will increase gas supplies to the European Union. This was told by the representative of the EC Dana Spinant, reports TASS.

“In terms of supply volumes, we urge Gazprom to behave like a good business partner and meet our needs and increase supplies if necessary,” Spinant said during a press conference in Brussels.

Also, the representative of the EC drew attention to the fact that the topic of gas supplies from Russia to the European Union is constantly raised in the capital of Belgium.

“You know that we are carefully studying the market and the issue of supply,” concluded Spinant.

Earlier, Russia's Permanent Representative to the EU Vladimir Chizhov explained that the increase in gas supplies to Europe depends on demand. He suggested that the European Union would agree to buy gas at higher prices if the winter in Europe was more severe.

Also in Poland, they said that Russia and China beat Europe in the gas market.
