India decides to lift mandatory quarantine for tourists

From February 14, India will cancel the mandatory weekly quarantine for tourists coming to the country, including Russians. This was reported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

Now both vaccinated and non-vaccinated Russians can fly to India. Also canceled and PCR test on the eighth day of stay in India. Instead of quarantine, tourists should engage in "self-observation".

Under the new rules, travelers must fill out a special form before traveling to the country, including indicating travel information for the last 14 days. You must also upload a negative test result for COVID-19 or a certificate of completion of the full cycle of vaccination against COVID-19. However, citizens of 82 countries, where Russia is not yet included, can now enter India only with a vaccination certificate.

It is also recommended that all passengers download the Aarogya Setu app on their mobile devices. Upon arrival in the country, all tourists must "self-monitor their health for 14 days," the new rules say.

Representatives of the tourism industry considered that from February 14, India will actually officially open to travelers. If earlier, due to fines and restrictions, demand was at a low level, but now it can grow. However, you should not expect a mass tourist flow anyway.

On February 10, the authorities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced the gradual lifting of anti-COVID restrictions in the country. The process of lifting restrictions began after the decrease in incidence rates and the achievement of a herd immunity level of 92%.
