UAE authorities decide to phase out anti-COVID restrictions

The authorities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have announced the gradual lifting of anti-COVID restrictions in the country. This was reported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

The process of lifting restrictions began after the decrease in incidence rates and the achievement of a herd immunity level of 92%.

So, by mid-February, all restrictions on the maximum number of people in transport, in tourist places, shopping and entertainment centers and other commercial enterprises will be lifted.

For example, Dubai has already reacted to the decision, and from February 15, all events and public gatherings in the emirate will resume their work. However, the authorities noted that all preventive measures should be observed and masks should continue to be worn.

Russian tour operators considered that the decision of the UAE authorities would lead to an increase in the flow of tourists from Russia by 30%. However, many issues require further clarification, as it is important to know what restrictions will be lifted next.

Earlier it was reported that Norway decided to cancel quarantine for all Russian tourists from January 26, 2022, regardless of vaccination status.
