The Supreme Court called the amount of fines not paid by the Russians

Chairman of the Supreme Court Vyacheslav Lebedev said that last year Russian citizens were imposed administrative fines of 56 billion rubles, only 9.2 billion were recovered. His words are reported by TASS.

“Administrative punishment in the form of a fine was imposed on 4 million 720 thousand persons for a total amount of 56 billion 800 million rubles, and only 9 billion 200 million rubles, that is, 16%, was recovered,” Lebedev said at a meeting of judges of courts of general jurisdiction and arbitration courts, dedicated to the results of 2021.

These figures indicate that the principle of inevitability of punishment is not respected in Russia regarding administrative offenses, he noted. According to him, this provokes Russians to "commit new offenses and even crimes."

The Chairman of the Supreme Court added that the number of administrative cases considered by the courts of general jurisdiction increased by 18%, the indicator of arbitration courts increased by 16%.

Earlier in Moscow, on Kolomenskoye passage, a traffic police crew stopped a Volkswagen driver. During the audit, it turned out that the debt of the motorist for overdue fines is 1 million rubles.
