Severstal will increase the salaries of employees by 15% in 2022

In 2022, Severstal decided to allocate 15 billion rubles to increase the salaries of employees, which will increase it by 15%. This was reported by the press service of the company.

From April 1, 2022, Severstal will increase the salary of its employees by 9% - but not less than 10 thousand rubles. Also in February, payments of a one-time remuneration in the amount of one monthly salary, but not less than 50 thousand rubles, will be made. Employees of the Vorkutaugol company, which is passing to new owners, will receive the same payments.

“Taking into account the increase in wages and additional payments, the income of all employees of the company will grow significantly above inflation. In general, at Severstal in 2022, the average salary will increase by 15%,” the report says.

According to Aleksey Mordashov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Severstal, such measures will help offset losses from inflation and stimulate high-quality work to achieve high results.

Severstal is one of the world's largest vertically integrated steel and mining companies. The main beneficiary is Alexey Mordashov. The company employs about 50 thousand people, and the average salary in 2021 was 91 thousand rubles.

In December 2021, Severstal announced that Vorkutaugol, which it controls, will be bought by Russian Energy for RUB 15 billion in order to achieve its carbon footprint reduction goals.
