Russia - Kamchatka airline Vityaz-Aero will resume passenger transportation in early spring

Russia (bbabo.net), - The Kamchatka airline Vityaz-Aero plans to start passenger transportation in early spring. This was reported in the press service of the government of the region.

Recall that the Federal Air Transport Agency has canceled restrictions on the validity of the company's air operator certificate, imposed after the fall of its Mi-8 helicopter into the Kuril Lake. During their operation, Vityaz-Aero could only carry cargo and provide aviation work. The ban was lifted on the basis of a report on the elimination of identified non-compliances.

- On March 1, we will hold a meeting on the readiness of the enterprise to work, and also work out the issue of tariff setting together with the regional service for tariffs and prices. There are questions about high tariffs that will need to be reviewed, - said Deputy Chairman of the Krai Government Sergei Mironov.

The head of Kamchatka, Vladimir Solodov, noted that the lifting of restrictions on the airline is good news for everyone. Due to the downtime of the enterprise in the region, additional difficulties arose.

- Thanks to the return to the flights of this carrier, we will be able to more rhythmically carry out inter-municipal transportation and flight delays will be minimal, - said the governor.

According to the head of Vityaz-Aero, Viktor Sirotin, the company is fully prepared for the resumption of flights. The fleet has undergone maintenance, and the pilots have undergone pre-flight training.

Recall that the plane crash with the Mi-8 occurred on August 12, 2021. The helicopter, carrying 13 passengers and three crew members, crashed into Kuril Lake. Eight people died. They were able to lift the aircraft from a depth of 120 meters only after two weeks. A criminal case was initiated on the fact of the incident.
