Russia - Personnel shortage in the tourism industry will be satisfied with the help of schoolchildren

Russia (bbabo.net), - Crimea can update the record of 2021 in terms of the number of tourists - then 9.5 million Russians rested on the peninsula. Now the authorities are trying to solve the problems that usually overshadow the rest of vacationers. By the beginning of the tourist season, zones will be determined where construction work will be prohibited, addresses of park and ride parks in resort towns and villages will be approved, and beaches will be put in order. But there remains one more headache - a shortage of personnel in the tourism industry.

Now administrators, cooks, waiters, maids, gardeners are urgently required. Moreover, the number of vacancies goes into the thousands. For example, before the start of the last "high" season, 3,000 "hot" positions were waiting for their applicants. Lists of vacancies will be posted on the website of the Ministry of Resorts of the Republic of Kazakhstan in April-May. So anyone, even from other regions, can find a job.

Crimean universities and colleges do not cover even half of the market needs. According to the regional Ministry of Education, a little over 10,000 specialists have been trained in seven years. According to the Crimean Hotel Association, the shortage of personnel in the tourism industry of the peninsula reaches 50-60 percent. "We don't even cover half of our needs with local workers," complains Sergey Makovei, chairman of the Crimean Hotel Association. "The bulk of cooks and chefs come from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg."

Last summer, hoteliers were rescued by students of the Siberian Federal University. At the university there is a school of chefs Paul Bocuse, which is financed by local restaurateurs - in this way they "forge" personnel. "And we agreed with the leadership of the university on the employment of students at the facilities of our association. The university built curricula in such a way that the guys were able to come at the end of May," Makovey said. Cooperation with the Siberian university will continue this holiday season.

Personnel hunger in the tourism industry of the Crimea will be satisfied with the help of schoolchildren. The Ministry of Education of the Republic has launched a pilot project for the education of future hospitality professionals. According to the department, from September 1, 2021, eight classes have been opened in the schools of Simferopol and Sudak. The Crimean Multidisciplinary College in Simferopol and Sevastopol State University became the developers of training programs and the basis for practical training. In college, the course of vocational education lasts for a year. Classes are four to six hours a week. Sevastopol State University was the first in Russia to develop the project "Mentoring support for projects of high school students as part of the organization of specialized education in schools" - eight courses in total. The essence of the idea is to give an opportunity to get acquainted with the "inner kitchen" of the tourism industry and "try on" the profession.
