Russia - Non-commodity non-energy exports from Russia reached a historic high

Russia (bbabo.net), - Non-commodity non-energy exports (NOE) from Russia reached an all-time high in 2021. Compared to 2020, this figure increased by 37% and amounted to $193 billion, Veronika Nikishina, head of the Russian Export Center (REC, part of the VEB.RF group), said.

In December, the NOE amounted to $22.8 billion, she said.

"The growth rate of Russian non-commodity non-energy exports also remains higher than the growth rate of world trade," Nikishina noted.

The total volume of Russian exports in 2021 amounted to about $492 billion. "These results repeat the record level of 2014," Nikishina added.

Earlier, the REC analytical center calculated that in 2021, exports of the chemical industry increased by 54%, metallurgy - by 52%, timber industry - by 43%, engineering - by 31%, food - by 23%. The main importers of Russian products were China - $15.6 billion, Kazakhstan - $14.4 billion, Belarus - $11.4 billion, Turkey - $10.9 billion, USA - $7.9 billion.

At the end of November 2021, Russia also set a historical record for food exports - $3.82 billion. The main commodities have traditionally been wheat ($953 million), crustaceans ($540 million, most of which comes from crabs), sunflower oil ($430 million), frozen fish ($313 million, most of which are pollock, cod, salmon, as well as caviar and liver). ), rapeseed oil (120 million), barley (113 million), chocolate products (100 million), flaxseed (97 million) and corn (95 million).

According to the Federal Customs Service, Russia's foreign trade turnover in 2021 amounted to $789.4 billion. The share of exports is 493.3 billion dollars, of which 86.9% are in non-CIS countries.
