Moldova paid off for January gas supplies

The company "Moldovagaz" fully paid off with "Gazprom" for the January gas supplies. This was announced by the head of "Moldovagaz" Vadim Cheban in his Telegram channel.

“Today JSC Moldovagaz paid PJSC Gazprom in full for January gas supplies. Until February 20, the company must transfer $51.1 million to the Russian supplier for 50% of current consumption,” Cheban wrote.

He also specified that at the beginning of the month, Moldovagaz had already transferred about $35 million to Gazprom for gas supplies.

“Given the terms of payment, about $61 million remains to be paid. This is possible in case of fulfillment of contractual obligations by all consumers, especially enterprises of the fuel and energy complex of the country, as well as the payment of budgetary compensation,” the head of the company noted.

Earlier it was reported that the price of Russian gas for Moldova in February 2022 will decrease from $686.9 per thousand cubic meters. m. to $563 per one thousand cubic meters. m.

On October 29, 2021, Moldova agreed with Gazprom to extend the expiring gas contract for another five years after protracted negotiations. Moldovan President Maia Sandu stressed that the country's government wants a better gas price.
