Siluanov: Russia has a plan in case of new sanctions

Russia (bbabo.net), - Possible anti-Russian sanctions, which have been talked about a lot lately, could lead to volatility, but are generally "not lethal". This was stated at a briefing by Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.

In particular, it was about disconnecting Russia from the SWIFT system: according to Siluanov, this topic has faded into the background.

“According to SWIFT, the latest information from Western countries has appeared that they themselves understand the absurdity of this whole situation, since we will suffer, but they will also suffer. If they want to suffer, so that we all suffer together, then, probably, this is justified. how common sense wins, I read information that the issue of disconnecting from SWIFT is being postponed. Although nothing is impossible, and, as we see, their decisions are reviewed quite often," Siluanov said. According to him, when disconnected from SWIFT, Russia has the ability to transfer information through other channels.

According to him, "not lethal" will also be restrictions on the purchase of Russian government debt by foreigners, and sanctions against Russian banks. “It is clear that we will ensure all deposits here, all settlements between our depositors, including foreign exchange ones, in these banks. Thank God, we have enough foreign exchange liquidity, and there are also enough foreign exchange reserves,” the finance minister said.

“I can’t say that we won’t feel anything, especially if a number of other sanctions are introduced. But we calculated the situation, we will work under these conditions, although, of course, at first this will lead to a certain volatility, but what to do, it’s not the first time ", Siluanov added.
