Russia (bbabo.net), - The Central Bank plans to start the second stage of testing the digital ruble this fall. This is reported by TASS with reference to the regulator.

The second stage involves testing operations for paying for goods and services, as well as paying payments for public services, implementing smart contracts and interacting with the Federal Treasury.

The Central Bank announced the beginning of testing the digital ruble the day before. At the first stage, the regulator plans to work out the issuance of digital rubles, the opening of digital wallets for banks and citizens, as well as transfers between citizens.

The very concept of the digital ruble implies the possibility for citizens, companies and government agencies to change cash and non-cash rubles for digital ones and credit them to electronic wallets.
