Chairman of the Board of Sberbank of Russia German Gref has been appointed special representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin in negotiations to advance the application for holding Expo in Moscow in 2030, TASS reports.

“To appoint Gref German Oskarovich as a special representative of the President of the Russian Federation (on a voluntary basis) on the promotion of the application of the Russian Federation for the right to host the World Universal Exhibition Expo-2030 in Moscow in 2030,” the order states.

The international exhibition Expo is a symbol of industrialization and an open platform for demonstrating technical and technological achievements. The next exhibition will be held in the United Arab Emirates, in the city of Dubai.

It is assumed that if the Russian application is approved, the exhibition will be held in Moscow from April 27 to October 27, 2030.

Earlier, the UN named Moscow the best metropolis in the world in terms of quality of life.
