Russia - What to do if the value of the goods on the price tag does not match the price on the check

Russia (bbabo.net), - The situation when the price for a product at the checkout differs upwards from that indicated on the price tag is a fairly common phenomenon. Rospotrebnadzor clarified what rights the buyer has and how to defend them in such cases.

The seller is obliged to ensure the consumer's right to receive the necessary and reliable information about the product, including providing information on the price and conditions for the purchase of goods (clause 2, article 10 of the Law "On Protection of Consumer Rights"), Rospotrebnadzor reported.

The buyer is obliged to pay for the goods at the price announced by the seller at the time of the conclusion of the retail sale contract (clause 1, article 500 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation). At the same time, even if the buyer has already paid for the goods and only then noticed the price discrepancy, the store is obliged to return the difference in price between the check and the price tag.

How to act in practice?

In trading floors, it is not allowed to restrict the rights of consumers to search for and receive any information in any form from any sources, including by photographing goods. Therefore, you can take a picture of the price tag - the photo will become evidence in the event of a dispute with the seller. Next, in the presence of witnesses, invite the seller's representative to the location of the price tag of the goods in order to fix the difference in prices between the check and the price tag. In the event of a dispute, in support of the terms of the retail sale and purchase agreement, you have the right to refer to witness testimony (Article 493 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation).
