Austria decides to ease anti-COVID measures for tourists

The Austrian government announced an easing of anti-COVID measures from March 5, 2022, allowing tourists to enter on a PCR test. This was reported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) with reference to the Minister of Health of the country, Wolfgang Myukstein.

“This means that there will be no more access rules and green passes,” said the country’s health minister, Wolfgang Mückstein.

According to the new rules, unvaccinated people (including those vaccinated with Russian vaccines) will again have access to public places. The list includes hotels, restaurants, cable cars, thermal complexes. However, the requirement to wear masks remains. They must be worn in shops, public transport, banks, post offices, hospitals and nursing homes.

The Austrian Tourism Office in Russia shared that Russian tourists who have not been ill with coronavirus and have not been vaccinated with vaccines recognized in the EU will soon be informed whether it is necessary to undergo quarantine after arriving in the country.

Now Austria is open to two groups of tourists from Russia: either those vaccinated with EMA-approved vaccines (Sputnik V is not included in this list), or those who have recovered from the coronavirus.

Earlier it was reported that Norway lifted almost all restrictions related to COVID-19 from February 12. To travel to the country, tourists from Russia no longer need any vaccination certificatests, and during their stay they can not wear masks.
