Previously, Yuri Zubov was the Deputy Head of Rospatent. He replaced Grigory Ivliev, who became the elected head of the Eurasian Patent Office and therefore resigned.

"Intellectual property is an important source of economic growth," Maxim Reshetnikov, head of the Ministry of Economic Development, said at the board of Rospatent. "Such an appointment confirms the high appraisal of the department's work."

According to the Ministry of Economic Development, investments in the field of intellectual property have doubled in three years and reached 700 billion rubles, and its total value is 6 billion rubles.
