The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, criticized the behavior of Gazprom on gas supplies to the European Union. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“Gazprom is deliberately trying to supply as little as possible when prices are flying up. This is very strange behavior for a company,” she said, speaking at the Munich Security Conference.
Previously, the European Commission urged Gazprom to behave like a good business partner and meet the needs of Europe by increasing supplies if necessary.
On February 14, it was reported that Gazprom did not book capacities for gas transit through Poland and Ukraine.
According to Gazprom, as of February 17, less than 5% of the gas stock pumped in the summer remained in gas storage facilities in Europe. Thus, 95.3%, or 44.8 billion cubic meters, of all gas reserves from European UGSFs were exhausted.
