The Russians were advised not to buy housing in a mortgage for investment

Russians should not now take out a mortgage to buy a home for investment purposes. This was stated by the deputy head of the Public Chamber of the Krasnodar Territory, economist Alexander Polidi.

“For investing in real estate through mortgage programs, the time is now completely inappropriate,” the expert noted.

According to him, renting out an apartment or its further resale will not be able to recoup the cost of repaying the loan.

He shared that it is best to get a loan to buy a home if the borrower himself uses it. However, a person who will take a mortgage loan must have an impressive amount for the down payment, at least a third or half of the cost of housing.

In January 2022, the average mortgage issued rose to a record 3.89 million rubles. Analysts calculated that the new record is 20.7% more than in December 2021 and 39.2% higher in annual terms.
