Russia - Named the regions of Russia with the lowest level of transport development

Russia (bbabo.net), - The Nenets and Chukotka Autonomous Okrugs, as well as the Jewish Autonomous Region topped the rating of Russian regions with the lowest level of public transport development, compiled by the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK).

"Based on the analysis of several factors, the level of development of urban transport in the regions was assessed, the subjects that are more in need of support from the state to modernize the public transport system were identified," RIA Novosti quotes the report.

When assessing, the experts took into account the share of equipment in the parks of the region, the period of use of which exceeded the normative one. The need for new transport until 2025 was considered. In addition, the general level of infrastructure development, the amount of funding for the renewal of the park and a number of other factors were noted.

The top 15 regions with a low level of public transport development also included Khakassia, Karelia, North Ossetia, Chechnya, Ingushetia, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Buryatia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Pskov and Oryol regions, as well as Yakutia.

In addition, the STLC presented a list of regions that need to purchase new passenger transport. Among them are the Nizhny Novgorod region, which needs 2.9 thousand units of equipment, the Perm Territory (2.4 thousand units), Tomsk (1.3 thousand units), Amur (708 units) and Sakhalin (530 units) regions.

Experts note that it is impossible to carry out a full-fledged reform of public transport without updating vehicle fleets in the regions. The comfort and mobility of passengers directly depends on the availability of such equipment.
