Germany spoke about the possible fate of Nord Stream 2

German Economy Minister Habek did not rule out a complete halt of the Nord Stream 2 project. The official stated this on the air of ARD, RIA Novosti reports.

“This can happen too. Today's measure is not sanctions in the narrow and strict sense of the word... But it is still possible. We are coordinating with European and American partners,” Habek emphasized.

At the same time, Khabek was skeptical about the further implementation of the project. In his opinion, it would be wiser not to build a gas pipeline between Germany and Russia.

“You have been under the illusion for too long that “the pipeline can only be considered from an economic point of view.” But energy policy should always “also be evaluated as a security policy as well as a geopolitical one,” the German minister noted.

Nord Stream 2 envisaged the construction of two strings of a gas pipeline with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the Russian coast through the Baltic Sea to Germany.

Earlier, France allowed the development of all scenarios in the situation with Ukraine.
