Alexey Chekunkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, spoke about how the preferential product is being implemented today.

- "Far Eastern mortgage" at two percent per annum has become one of the most popular support measures launched by the Russian government in the Far Eastern Federal District. In just over two years, loans worth more than 140 billion rubles have been issued. Over 35,000 families have improved their living conditions. Every second apartment in a new building is bought using the Far East Mortgage, he said.

According to the minister, more than eight percent of loans were issued for individual housing construction, which is four times higher than the average Russian figure. The increased demand for housing has attracted investment in new development projects: the volume of housing construction in 2021 increased by a quarter. By the way, in the spring the program will also be extended to doctors and teachers without age restrictions - until now, preferential loans were issued only to spouses under 35 years old.

- The mechanism of concessional lending will also be involved in the implementation of the program "Far Eastern Quarter", aimed at the implementation of complex development projects using incentives for investors within the framework of the PDA, - added Alexey Chekunkov. - Pilot sites have already been selected in eight regions, where more than 2.5 million square meters of housing with social infrastructure will be built.
