Earlier, Sberbank, VTB, Alfa-Bank and Otkritie issued a joint appeal to customers. It says that under the sanctions, companies are coordinating their activities and are working with the Central Bank to "ensure uninterrupted and sustainable operation."

The regulator explained that customers of VTB, Sovcombank, Novikombank, Promsvyazbank and Otkritie will not be able to pay with cards abroad and use them to pay for services "in online stores and service aggregators registered in countries that support sanctions."
