At a meeting with the new composition of the lower house of parliament on October 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested changing the method of indexing maternity capital from the projected inflation rate to the actual one.

The head of state stressed that higher inflation "hit hard on the poorest groups of the population."

Now the size of the capital will be revised annually from February 1, based on the consumer price growth index for the previous year. The indexation coefficient is determined by the government. In the same way, the size of the remaining part of the uterus will be increased.

Let's remind that today the maternity capital is 483 thousand 881 rubles for the first child, 639 thousand 431 - for the second child and subsequent children. It will remain so until February 1, 2022, then it will be increased.
