Russia (bbabo.net), - At a large final press conference in the Moscow Manege, President Vladimir Putin said that this year "wages have started to rise."

“Changes in the real disposable income of the population - if it was minus 2%, then this year we expect growth,” the head of state said.

According to him, on average in the country, real incomes will grow by 3.5%. What role does business play in this - in an interview with Eduard Davydov, General Director of the Bashkir Soda Company.

Eduard Malikovich, does the situation with the payment of salaries at your enterprise correspond to the general trend in the country?

Eduard Davydov: Our situation is different, and for the better. Firstly, we did not have any salary cuts at the end of 2020. And secondly, a year ago we launched a very ambitious program to improve the welfare of BSK employees. The key point is that the annual salary increase is significantly higher than the inflation rate. As a result, the average salary for 2021 at JSC "BSK" is 54,373 rubles, an increase by 2020 - 15.8%. This is already significantly higher than the average salary in the Republic of Bashkortostan and Sterlitamak (in the city, the average salary for 9 months was 41,465.5 rubles). We have set a goal: by 2025, to bring the average salary at BSK to the average level in the chemical industry of the Republic of Bashkortostan. We are systematically moving towards this goal. So from January 1, 2022, wages will grow again in the amount of 8.6 to 12.5% ​​for different categories of personnel. First of all, we index the wages of low-level workers.

During the solemn meeting dedicated to summing up the results of 2021, you announced that each employee of the BSK company will receive an award based on the results of the year. How did you manage to reward? Are you becoming more efficient? Or are you reducing dividends?

Eduard Davydov : Indeed, before the new year, we will pay all employees the 13th salary, in the amount of at least the estimated monthly salary. This became possible thanks to the record performance indicators achieved by the company in the past year. According to preliminary calculations, a total of about 218 thousand tons of sodium bicarbonate will be produced (an increase of more than 18% compared to last year), about 52 thousand tons of caustic soda (+ 31%). In addition, it was possible to increase the production of PVC to 269 thousand tons, soda ash grade B - up to 1824 thousand tons. These are the best values ​​for the entire 70-year period of the enterprise's operation.

In ruble terms, an increase in the total volume of manufactured products is recorded by more than 20% (58.1 billion rubles). As a result, there was a significant increase in both revenue (58.9 billion rubles) and the volume of net profit (up to 15.0 billion rubles). At the same time, the enterprise will pay 10.4 billion rubles in taxes to the budgets of all levels. Of course, all these indicators became possible thanks to the selfless work of the entire work collective. So, we can say how we worked and earned. Therefore, I want to once again thank our entire 8,500-strong team for their conscientious attitude, for their loyalty to their work and the glorious traditions of caustic and soda production!

That is, we can say that the current record is the result of labor enthusiasm?

Eduard Davydov : Not only. Our success, just like the classics, has “three sources and three components”. First, we pay great attention to the modernization of production, the introduction of new technologies. We annually invest about 3 billion rubles in modernization and new technologies. This year the baking soda production was completely reconstructed. In particular, a new screw compressor was installed at a cost of half a billion rubles, which allows both to increase production volumes and improve product quality. We installed new gas chromatographs "Crystallux - 4000M" - equipment for monitoring the air environment and water bodies, as well as air sampling devices, because for us, as I have already said many times, the greening of production is the number one issue. We became the first enterprise in the country, where we developed and implemented the technology of separation of distiller liquid (soda production waste) - into solid and liquid fractions and figured out how to use them further. We were one of the first in the world to introduce the technology of continuous dosing of the initiator, developed the technology of defoaming in the polymerization process, which made it possible to significantly increase the production of PVC. And this is only a small part of what has been done!

Secondly, we constantly feel support from federal structures and the leadership of the Republic of Bashkortostan. It is important that there is an opportunity to promptly solve many current issues, due to this, the efficiency of management decisions is seriously increased.Well, and the third is, of course, people. Taking care of our employees is our key priority. The social package of our company is one of the best in the republic. Just recently, our Collective Agreement took first place in the corresponding republican competition. The jury evaluated both the performance and the price of the Collective Agreement per employee. Our agreement covers almost 50,000 people - these are employees, their children, veterans of the enterprise. The total cost of implementing all programs of the Collective Agreement is more than 2.5 billion rubles.

What are your plans?

Eduard Davydov: What we are talking about now are the ESG principles that our company is actively introducing into its activities: greening production, social responsibility, corporate governance. We have developed a number of environmental projects that will significantly reduce the impact of production on the environment. In particular, this is a transition to membrane electrolysis technology, which will completely eliminate the use of mercury. And also the launch of a line for the production of granular calcium chloride, which will make it possible to process a significant part of the waste of soda production. By implementing these projects, we will be able to come close to closed-cycle chemical production, which will significantly increase not only environmental friendliness, but also the profitability of production. Using profit rationally, we will be able to improve the welfare of BSK employees.

Together with the specialists of VEB Engineering (part of the state corporation VEB.RF), we have developed a large program of the company's strategic development until 2030. In the near future it will be presented to the new Board of Directors of BSK. The program involves not only the modernization of equipment, but also the creation of completely new production lines. We have many plans for the next year, so I can say for sure: we do not intend to stop at the current production records.
