USA increased gas supplies to Europe

The United States over the weekend increased the number of tankers carrying natural gas to Europe by a third. Bloomberg reports.

According to the newspaper's estimates, there are 20 tankers with American gas on their way to Europe. On the eve of Catholic Christmas (December 24), the number of LNG tankers from the United States was 15 units.

The publication notes that the supply of fuel from the United States to Europe could help reduce concerns about further increases in gas prices.

Earlier it became known that gas prices in Europe will remain high throughout the next year, including in the summer months.

“Forward contract prices have more than doubled over the past month, and traders believe the unprecedented rise will continue until early 2023. Gas will be expensive even in hot weather, ”Bloomberg said.

Kaushal Ramesh, senior analyst at Rystad Energy in Norway, noted that he does not yet see the circumstances conducive to lower prices. The rise in prices for forward contracts "suggests another year of instability and continued high prices," he summed up.
