Russia - The rise in gasoline prices will not exceed the inflation rate

Russia (bbabo.net), - In 2022, tariffs for households and businesses for electricity and gas will traditionally rise. Despite the global trend - the rise in prices for energy resources, in Russia their significant rise in prices is not expected. Tariffs for the population are regulated by the state, and the maximum growth levels are determined by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS). Prices for electricity and gas for the population will not change from January, an increase is planned from July 1 - by 5% and 3%, respectively. For industrial consumers, electricity prices are expected to rise by 3.8% over the year, and gas by 5%.

But with regard to automotive fuel, not everything is so simple. Price increases are not expected to exceed inflation, but there are several additional negative factors. First, the prices for gasoline and diesel will depend on the already high oil prices. Secondly, from January the excise tax on gasoline will grow by 6.8% and on diesel fuel by 4%. Thirdly, it is planned to change the damping mechanism not in favor of oil refineries (refineries). But the FAS has already proposed not to change its parameters for 2022. This will help avoid an increase in the price of car fuel if oil prices remain high.
