Moldova (bbabo.net), - Moldova ended 11 months of 2021 with a budget deficit of 3.05 billion lei (1.5% of GDP), compared with a deficit of 8.22 billion lei (4% of GDP) recorded in the same period 2020. According to a report published by the Ministry of Finance, this dynamics was due to an increase in budget revenues, mainly influenced by the dynamics of VAT revenues and slower growth in budget spending.
At the same time, in January-November 2021, investment expenditures were 2.98 billion lei higher than in the same period last year, and payments caused by the COVID-19 epidemic amounted to 13.04 billion lei.
Thus, the revenues of the national public budget for the first eleven months of 2021 amounted to 67.95 billion lei, which is 22.4% higher than the level obtained in the same period last year.
The proceeds from the value added tax (VAT) increased during this period by 29.3%, up to 23.06 billion lei. Of this amount, more than 17.55 billion lei accounted for VAT on imported goods, while receipts increased by almost a third.
During the same period, receipts from excise taxes increased by 16.8%, to 6.75 billion lei; from contributions to compulsory state social insurance - by 14.2%, up to 14.48 billion lei; from contributions for compulsory health insurance - by 14.1%, up to 5.02 billion lei; from the income tax on legal entities - by 16.5%, to 4.92 billion lei and from the income tax from individuals - by 24.1%, to 4.56 billion lei.
The national public budget expenditures amounted to about 71 billion lei, which is 11.4% (7.25 billion lei) more compared to the same period last year.
The largest expenditures fell on social protection - 26.45 billion lei, an increase of 11.2%. This is followed by deductions for health care - 11.97 billion lei, an increase of 37.2%, and for education - 15.51 billion lei, an increase of 9.6%.
At the same time, expenditures on the economic sector decreased by 10.7%, to 6.62 billion lei. Recall that for 11 months of 2021, personnel costs amounted to 16.77 billion lei, an increase of 10.4% compared to 11 months of 2020.
