The Kremlin has found a transition way through Ukrainian pipeline

Rosneft's deal with Total will enable the Russian company to require the allocation of new quotas for the additional pumping of oil to Germany and the Czech Republic through transit countries, including Ukraine.

On August 27 German antitrust authorities gave the go-ahead for the"Rosneft’s" purchase of 16.7% of stock in the oil refining companies RSC Raffinerie GmbH in Schwedt (Germany) at the French corporation Total. The deal has caused a resonance not only because of the solid value - the Russians acquired assets which are estimated at $ 300 million - but because of the associated tragic circumstances. A month before the official announcement of the deal the head of Total, Christophe de Margerie, died in a plane crash in Moscow. He died returning from the talks on October 21, 2014, and on November 28 the new leadership of the corporation announced the deal. Death of de Margerie has cast a shadow on the contract for the purchase of the refinery for a long time, but a year later passions subsided. Russian investigative authorities on August 28 ended the official investigation of his death. According to investigators, the cause of the crash was unintentional negligence of a group of the Russian airport workers.
