All financial organizations temporarily suspended their activities in Kazakhstan

All financial institutions in Kazakhstan have suspended their activities in connection with the counter-terrorist operation and disruptions in the Internet. This was announced by the press secretary of the National Bank Olzhas Ramazanov on the air of the Khabar 24 TV channel, TASS reports.

According to him, this measure is also aimed at protecting the health and lives of employees and clients of financial institutions. Ramazanov also added that the work of the organizations has been suspended for one day, until the end of January 6.

"The Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Regulation and Development of the Financial Market and the National Bank of Kazakhstan urge citizens and the media to trust only official sources of information," concluded Ramazanov.

In Kazakhstan, protests began on January 2 in the city of Zhanaozen, Mangistau Oblast, after the price for a liter of liquefied gas increased to 120 tenge (about 21 rubles). Before that, the price for a liter of gas was 60 tenge. Two days later, clashes between protesters and the police and the military began in Almaty and a number of other cities. Clashes also took place in Aktobe, Taraz, Aktau and other settlements.

Earlier it was reported that law enforcement agencies took under increased protection all administrative buildings in the capital of Kazakhstan.
