By the end of the year the Ukrainian national debt can reach 91% of GDP

The amount of public and publicly guaranteed debt at the end of 2015 may be 91.1% of GDP.

This is stated in the explanatory note to the lawsuit on amendments to the Budget Code of Ukraine concerning the restructuring of the public and publicly guaranteed debt and its write-off.

As noted, on December 31, 2014 the amount of public and publicly guaranteed debt amounted to 70.3% of GDP, which is more than 60% of total debt to GDP, which is allowed in the Article 18 of the Budget Code of Ukraine.

"According to preliminary estimates the amount of public and publicly guaranteed debt at the end of 2015 may reach 91.1% of GDP (before the debt transaction)," – was said in an explanatory note.

It has to be recalled, that on 27 August a committee of private creditors of Ukraine agreed to write off 20% of the Ukrainian debt and delay the payment of the remainder of the debt.

As you know, on Wednesday, the Cabinet introduced a package of laws necessary for the successful completion of the restructuring of the external debt of the country.
