The Russian company "Gazprom" does not intend to apply the condition of "take or pay" stipulated in a contract with the National Joint Stock Company "Naftogaz Ukraine" on the conditions of supply of natural gas to Ukraine for the period from 1 October 2015 to 31 March 2016.

"Gazprom" sent "Naftogaz Ukraine" a letter signed by the chairman of board, Oleksiy Miller. In a letter "Gasprom" confirms that it will not apply the "take or pay" condition which is stipulated in the contract of gas sale of 19 January 2009 in respect of the supply of Russian gas to Ukraine in the period from October 1, 2015 to March 31, 2016, "- said in a statement.

At the same time, "Gazprom" retains all its rights under this contract.
